Hunter wrestles with the Terry Wrestling Club Mat Dawgz in Terry, Montana, and after meeting her and her family at the Outlaw Square Shootout in Deadwood this weekend, we couldn't be happier to welcome her to the team.
From the moment we met Hunter, her kindness stood out. She's the kind of athlete who makes friends everywhere she goes, whether it's with teammates or competitors. Her love for wrestling is genuine, and her positive energy is contagious.
Her wrestling journey is also a powerful reminder of what perseverance looks like. Hunter was once so nervous that she couldn't bring herself to step onto the mat at her first tournaments. When she finally found the courage, it took an entire season to earn her first win, which came at the state tournament. After finishing her first two years with just seven total victories, she reached an incredible milestone this past season by earning her 100th career win.
Just as impressive is the leader she's becoming. Hunter is a great practice partner for younger wrestlers in her club, and her excitement for the sport inspires those around her to give wrestling a try.
