Olivia wrestles with the Cobbler Kids right here in South Dakota, and after reading her application, we couldn't wait to welcome her to the In Her Era family.
Her wrestling journey started in a way that's familiar to so many families. She tagged along to her brother's practices instead of sitting on the sidelines... and before long, she had fallen in love with the sport herself. Then she discovered something even better: she could be tough on the mat while still being completely herself. As her mom put it, once Olivia realized she could still look cute and girly while wrestling, she was all in.
What really stood out to us was the heart behind this application. Olivia's family believes girls belong on the mat, on the podium, and in the spotlight. They believe wrestling builds confidence, resilience, friendships, and the courage to do hard things. Those are the same values that inspired us to create In Her Era.
We also love that Olivia is surrounded by a family that cheers for every girl in wrestling, celebrates their successes, volunteers at tournaments, and encourages new wrestlers to give the sport a try. That's how communities grow, and it's exactly how girls wrestling continues to thrive.
