Ellie is 9 years old and wrestles for the JC Youth Wrestling Club. What inspired us most about her application wasn't just her love for wrestling, but her desire to give back to the sport that helped her find where she belongs.
Like many young athletes, Ellie tried a lot of different activities before discovering wrestling. Once she stepped onto the mat, she found a community, a challenge, and a place that felt like home. Now she's working to make sure other kids have the same opportunity.
Through her summer lemonade stand, Ellie raises money to help sponsor local youth wrestlers in her club, helping more kids discover the sport she loves. At such a young age, she's already showing what it means to support her teammates, invest in her community, and help grow wrestling for the next generation.
Her mom shared that Ellie wants to be a positive example for other girls and advocate for greater representation of female wrestlers at every level of the sport. We think that's a pretty incredible goal.
