Leah wrestles with Huron Youth Wrestling right here in South Dakota, and we're so excited to have her joining our team!
One thing that stood out in Leah's application was how much she's grown in just a few years in the sport. In her second year of wrestling, she finished as a state runner-up. The following year, she came back and won a state championship in the 12U 160 lb division.
We love that progression because it represents so much of what wrestling teaches. You don't have to have everything figured out on day one. You keep showing up, keep learning, keep working, and sometimes you get to see all of that work turn into something pretty incredible.
Leah also wants other girls to discover the sport she and her family love so much. She actively encourages her friends to give wrestling a try and wants to help show that wrestling isn't just a boys sport. Girls belong here too.
