Maisie Jayde is 4 years old and wrestles with the Dickinson Wrestling Club in Dickinson, North Dakota. What inspired us most about her application wasn't a list of accomplishments or tournament results. It was her genuine love for wrestling.
Maisie Jayde was born into a wrestling family and has been surrounded by the sport her entire life. Long before she was old enough to officially participate, she could be found on the sidelines watching practices, cheering on her brothers, and asking when she could finally get out on the mat herself.
According to her family, wrestling is all she wants to talk about. She loves practices, tournaments, and any opportunity to learn something new. If there's wrestling happening, Maisie Jayde wants to be part of it.
We especially loved hearing about the way she treats others. Whether she wins or loses, Maisie Jayde always has a smile on her face. She gives high fives to her opponents, encourages other wrestlers, and approaches the sport with kindness and joy. That's the kind of attitude that helps build a strong wrestling community.
This year will be Maisie Jayde's first full season, and we can't wait to watch her continue to grow. One thing is already clear: her love for wrestling is contagious.
