Olivia is 7 years old and wrestles for the Meagher County Wrestling Club. What inspired us most about her application wasn't just her love for wrestling, but her desire to inspire other girls to discover the sport she loves.
Olivia shared that some of her closest friendships have been built through wrestling. Anyone who has spent time in a wrestling room knows that the sport is about so much more than wins and losses. It's about friendships, confidence, hard work, and belonging to a community that supports one another.
We also loved learning about Olivia's wrestling club. Although they're a small-town program, they are doing an incredible job supporting girls wrestling and creating opportunities for female athletes. In fact, they have as many girls, if not more girls, than boys participating. That's exactly the kind of growth and support that will continue moving our sport forward.
At just 7 years old, Olivia already wants to encourage other girls to step onto the mat and experience everything wrestling has to offer. We think that's pretty special.
