Emma is entering her 5th year of wrestling and has already built an impressive list of accomplishments on the mat, including being a multiple-time state qualifier, a District Champion, a Regional Champion, and even winning an all-boys bracket.
But what inspired us most about Emma's application wasn't her success in competition. It was the way she supports the people around her.
Her family shared that Emma takes tremendous pride in being one of the biggest cheerleaders on her team. She's always ready to help her teammates, celebrate their successes, and encourage them through challenges. Whether she's competing, practicing, or sitting matside cheering on a teammate, Emma leads with positivity and kindness.
Emma has also been a tremendous supporter of girls wrestling in Lead-Deadwood and throughout the Black Hills. Alongside her teammates, she helps create an environment where girls feel welcomed, supported, and valued. That's exactly the kind of leadership our sport needs as it continues to grow.
